- Air conditioning and refrigeration
- Marine
Sizes & Ratings
Available in carbon steel or stainless steel, as well as lug and wafer body styles, they can be specified in sizes 2-1/2″ through 36″ (65 mm through 900 mm), pressure Class 150; 2-1/2″ through 24″ (65 mm through 600 mm), pressure Class 300; and 3″ through 12″ (80 mm through 300 mm), pressure Class 600.
Selecting a WKM high-performance butterfly valve
Start with the required service conditions, then confirm the exact valve configuration. The Cameron WKM Dynacentric product brochure describes the double-offset design, materials and pressure/temperature limits. Product selection should use those model-specific limits rather than the pressure class alone.
| Selection detail | What to provide |
|---|---|
| Size and connection | Nominal pipe size, pressure class, and lug or wafer body style. |
| Service conditions | Fluid, normal and maximum operating temperature, and operating and differential pressure. |
| Materials and sealing | Required body material, trim, seat, seal and packing requirements. |
| Operation | Manual operator or actuator requirements and any project specification. |
| Order details | Quantity, delivery requirement and any existing valve tag or model number. |
For a replacement valve, include the existing nameplate and application details. For a new installation, provide the project specification so the requested configuration can be reviewed before ordering. Contact Energy Valves with your inquiry or browse the butterfly valve range.
Read the WKM high-performance butterfly valve installation, operation and maintenance manual for model-specific installation and service procedures.
Frequently Asked Questions
What does double offset mean?
The WKM Dynacentric design offsets the stem and disc so the disc moves away from the seat as the valve opens. This reduces seat contact during travel; consult the brochure for the design and available seat options.
Does Class 150 mean the valve is rated for 150 psi?
A pressure class is not a universal working-pressure value. The permitted pressure depends on temperature, body material, seat and seal configuration. Use the manufacturer’s pressure/temperature charts for the exact valve being quoted.
What should I send with a request for quotation?
Send the size, pressure class, body style and material, service fluid, operating temperature and pressure, required seat or seal, operator or actuator, quantity and delivery requirement. Include a tag number, specification or existing nameplate photo when available.
Where can I find installation and maintenance instructions?
Use the linked WKM high-performance butterfly valve installation, operation and maintenance manual. Confirm that the manual and instructions match the valve model and nameplate before installation or service.
