Overview

The Cameron WHEATLEY short-pattern wafer check valve is a lightweight, compact design ideal for backflow prevention in gas and liquid applications.

Recommended Service Conditions

These reduced-port check valves are used in applications where:

  • Media is clean (abrasives are not present)
  • Flow is steady and not pulsating
  • Flow rates are low
  • Pigs or spheres are not intended to run through the valve
  • Seat velocity does not exceed: Liquids 15 ft/sec, Gases 100 ft/sec

Applications & Benefits

The short-pattern wafer body is lightweight and compact, so it fits between flanges in tight, low-clearance installations and reduces overall system weight. It is a cost-effective backflow-prevention choice for clean gas and liquid lines with steady, low flow — for example utility, process, and general piping — provided the service stays within the seat-velocity limits above and does not require pigging.
